middle November miscellania

A sign I made (other side says happy halloween)

since we did feet ghosts, i did hand turkeys on the other side

my fall mantle;)

I hosted a boy baby shower for Britni Brown.

Alyssa really liked this firetruck craft she made.  I love that her school picture is in the drivers seat.

Michael and Tyler went to a UT game for his bday outing (he took Matthew golfing).  I told them to take pictures.  He took one on his phone of the two of them.  Maybe someday they will get imported here. Tyler LOVES football, it was a fun treat for him.

not sure what is going on, but i love these shots

a day when I went to visit the kids at lunch deserves pictures

they love to show off Cali

I brought matthew a choco chip muffin, he was pretty excited!

i love this tyler smile.  so genuine and sweet.

michael was enlisted to use his PVC pipe skills for a RS function.  we all donated dresses and they were given to a womens shelter (ever read the book 100 dresses?)

The Wellness Walk is an event done each year at Cactus Ranch the friday before Thanksgiving break.  The kids get sticks for each lap they do, and adults get 2 sticks.  So I was determined to help each of my kids get as many sticks as possible.  I was going to run it!  Matthew's was first in the morning.  I think we got 17 sticks total (I pulled Cali out of the stroller for a few and she got 2 sticks, too).  Am I allowed to say that I like this pic of me b/c I see my face thinning from the past 10 years of chubby mama face?  Maybe it was the running that morning.

Then came Tylers race shortly after.  I wanted to play the fair mom and get as many sticks for him as I did for Matthew.  Cali got cranky in her stroller and I literally ran maybe 4 laps with her on my hips.  It didn't seem to be that big of a deal...at the time. He ran a few more laps than Matthew did, so I think our total was about as many as Matthew's (I may have had a few less). I love this shot of us;)

Then came alyssa.  She isn't as much of a runner as Tyler is, so I thought this would be an easy stroll with her.  But Nope, she was determined to run, and even left me in her dust a few times. I didn't feel as obligated to get her as many sticks, but still wanted to contribute my part (the class with the most sticks in each grade got a prize).  Our neighbors the Yosts were there with Ashley, and Chris kindly offered to push Cali in the stroller for me so I could run with Alyssa.  He is on the left in the gray shirt here and Naomi is just behind him party cut off (with their son Reese in the stroller).  Aj's kinder teacher, Ms. Hutchison is to the very right with dark hair and the longhorn cactus ranch shirt.

Here are Alyssa and I all red faced.  I was VERY impressed with her running skills, as I had never seen them before. Fancy headband, necklace, bracelet and all.

I decided it would be fun to pop the tent in the backyard and have a little family sleepover.

It was fun!  We pulled the laptop out there to watch a movie.  We watched Scrooge, and it was scary.  Maybe not the best idea in a dark and windy tent (even if it is in our backyard).

We also made s'mores inside.

I made a bread cornicopia.

I was happy with how it turned out!

Michael starting Alyssa's Christmas present--dollhouse.

my mischievious little girl...below, she thinks she is SO funny!

I got to go with Alyssa on a field trip.  It was so fun, even if I didn't get to ride the bus with her.

She was sad at the end that I couldn't go with her.
Her teacher, Ms. H. kept her company for me.

Cali wanted a treat at the store. From the looks of her face, it appears she had one recently.

sign I made for Christmas...

getting rid of the epidemic...

making shirts with AJ at school

this shows the spot i was parked when i got a parking ticket in front of the school.  Yes, I was faced the wrong direction (is it reall a big deal?) but the ticket also said it was in a no parking zone.  I took a picture of where I parked (not by the yellow curb, no sign) and faught the ticket.  I got it brought down to a lesser fee because of it.  Yay!
