I had known for a few months that my BYU roommate Amy a.k.a. Amylicious was coming to visit. Just so happens that the day before was a tragic day in our town (see below post) and her visit was overshadowed by all of that. But all Amy wanted to do was sit and visit and chat and get caught up, so it was PERFECT! She definitely got a glimpse into our family! I loved that in the weeks leading up to her visit here, she kept a notebook of all the questions she wanted to ask me and get full detailed answers to. From mothering to school issues to home decorating to my photog biz...it was all covered! She and I had lots of classes together back in the day because we had the same major. She is someone I look to as an example to ME of being strong and immovable in her faith. The last time I saw her was her wedding day, when I met her at the St. Louis Temple with 9 month old Tyler....her sister watched him while I attended inside. It had been waaaay too long! Here are some pics of our visit...just 48 hours long.
What is also fun is that she actually knew Michael before I did. But she watched our relationship "blossom" and she counciled me through lots of ups and downs. Sadly, she wasn't there the semester we got engaged, she had graduated and moved out of state. But she did come back for our wedding;) Oh, and she and I both briefly dated Michael's brother, Steve, but 9 months apart from each other (I was first, but who is asking)....what, you didn't know about that one? And Steve was before Michael is you really don't know that story. I have typed it out somewhere on this blog...
anyway...she captured our family fun (she brought me the pink socks and all of my kids John Deer shirts)
It was just SO great to see her again, to relax and talk and laugh about the good ole days;) Oh, and here is her take on the trip to Texas. She took and shared these pics with me, so you will see duplicates.
