my dear friend

Natty & I met nearly 16 years ago and we've been best friends since that first day! From high school to Pasta Co. to BYU to marriages to both living on the east coast and children and back to Texas again where we started. It's great that we live in the same state, if not the same city...we get to see each other a few times a year....its fun to get our kids together to play and get to know each other while chat the night away. It's just nice to have a friend that knew me "way back when" and truly gets me. We know WAY too much about eat other....and she seems to remember a lot of random details that I've forgotten through the years and vice versa. We had a late night shopping spree while Michael stayed home with the sleeping little ones...and he even played games with her oldest when he couldn't sleep. This pict doesn't show her 10 month old little boy, he was already in bed. Click here to see their family picts that I took the next day.

a first for me.....

I have NEVER in my life mowed the lawn...I had 3 brothers growing up, so it was never expected of me....Michael always does it...he was sick and was about to go do it, so I said I would. He looked at me with shock and awe, he just needed to turn it on for me (twice b/c it killed when i went too fast) and I was good to go. I surprisingly liked it....just me and my thoughts and the tall grass.

amylicious loves me

my college roommate mailed me this cute clock that keeps me 29 forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally some wedding picts

My brother got married last month and I was the photographer. I love doing this...even though I no longer do wedding for others. The Temple is my favorite place to photograph. Below is a little montage of some of my favorites, but if you REALLY WANT MORE, click here to see more Temple picts and click here to see Reception picts (the first few are the lunch that I took). My friend Marissa in Houston was so awesome to come photograph the reception for me b/c I wanted to enjoy it with my family. Video made images pixelated...sorry.

Where were you?

This is for my good friend, Nicole, who survived the horror that day. I know this is a difficult day for her. I like this song.

Busy Bee's

I'm teaching Matthew's preschool group at our home this week, and I can tell this is going to be a great group this year! We are talking about rhyming, and they don't quite grasp the concept. I was giving examples and then asked what rhyme's with red...after one said, pink, and the others looked stumped, I suggested it is something they sleep on at night, and all their faces lit up as they shouted in unison, "PILLOW!" Moments like these are priceless:)

Primary Missionary Activity

To those concerned about the environment, hope this doesn't bug you....the children wrote out their testimonies of the gospel and attached it to a balloon and then let them go. It was a really fun day and activity where michael got to tell them about his mission to France, they learned about Japan, and how to sew on a button and make a pizza. Skills to prepare them for a mission

Labor Day fun

We went to our friends Lakehouse on the Saturday before Labor Day and got to do this mini sailboat...Michael remembered how to do it from his scouting days....we went out for about 15 minutes....that was enough for all of us:) Alyssa wanted to walk around, but that just didn't work. We went pretty fast, it was really fun!
