Punkin Patch

I love the Fall! The leaves don't change a pretty color, but we were able to find a pumpkin patch about an hour away. It is a cool one, we don't get to actually "cut" them off of the vine like we did in DE, but they make up for it with a cool Texas sized corn maze & homemade pumpkin ice cream. Since my discovery of uploading 5 at a time, I show more picts...sorry if this bores you, but this is my scrapbooking now :)

Let's Party

I love holidays....I love Halloween....is it so wrong to love halloween? I don't love evil things, but I love pumpkins and orange and cute spiders and funny little witches. I had a little Halloween gathering with some friends...it was fun to plan and decorate my home for the festivities. I told them to leave the kids at home and to come in costume...not everyone got into the costume thing, but we had lots of fun and laughs, just friends. The best thing I did was plan out the menu ahead of time and allow everyone to choose what they'd bring. I didn't even make anything (just provided a bowl of gourment candy corn & m&m's). Best decision I could have made:) Tyler helped me that afternoon carry out 4 dozen balloons from Party City. I love balloons, they just make me happy. 10 couples came, some from church, some from my neighborhood, I love bringing my friends together. My favorite part of the night is when we sat in a big circle and I had planned ahead of time ?s to ask each person to answer and did a sort of "newlywed game" thing where they answered for their spouse. It was funny to watch the couples interact with each other when they got the answer right/wrong. It was also fun to learn random little tidbits about my friends, as well. My Bombay spiders that I found on ebay

The Spread
Close up on Emily's cool monster guy...everyone was so impressed, it was hard to eat the apples

Michael and I used the dogtags that we made in college before we were even "officially" dating. I already had camo pants, so we built our costume off of that and went to an army suplus store to get the hats, his pants, and boots (had to have boots). Only to discover I could not find my camo pants ANYWHERE so I went back and got some for me. I love me some camo.

October Family Fun

October is a crazy month around here....pretty much all the boys birthdays and halloween...it's a lot. But I love it, and I plan on it being a crazy month, so its not a like a shock to my system. I am looking forward to propping my feet up in November...wait, what am I thinking, it is high season for family portraits....I'm just taking on a few this year, and am officially "booked."
For our family home evening, we made chocolate suckers (big hit) with the wilton stuff and played Halloween Jenga...we don't have the regular version, so this was the boys first time playing...it was really fun! I love introducing new fun things to my kids.

Birthday Whirlwind

Matthew & Tyler's bday's are about 21 days apart, so we decided to have a joint party in the middle at an Inflatable Jumpy House. When you do this, you can have a group of 10 or a group of 25 and the "deal" is on the group of 25...so we went for it and had a very long list. This made for a little chaos when we had cake and presents, but oh so much fun for the boys to have lots of friends to run around and play with! I love a gathering of friends...of course the parents of all my kids friends are also my friends. I didn't feel like I got good quality conversation with these friends, but it just makes me smile to have so many great friends all in the same room with us. My mom came from Houston, brother and sis in law from San Antonio, and even our past neigbhors drove in from College Station. Friends from church, school, & neighbors of varying ages, my boys just love their friends, and we are so lucky.
When I was frosting their cakes in the afternoon, Tyler watched methodically and said, "wow, thats going to take a long time...." To which I replied, "yes it will, and I do it because I love you." I'm not that great at cake decorating, but I do it with love, and to show my kids how much I love them. This is my attempt at 2 light saber cakes. Tyler took these shots of me.

Alyssa got a pink pony because our friend Emily saw how much she loves her ratty blue pony, she now carries 2 ponies everywhere she goes.
Goodbye everyone!
