Michael's mom was delighted to come take care of the kids for the days I was gone. I think Michael was also delighted at the idea of having his mom around. That made it really easy for me to go. I had heard before she came that she was basing her daily activities around a theme. She couldn't decide between bugs or Mexico, and she ended up choosing Mexico. They made Mexican flowers, Mexican bead necklaces, made a pinata, learned to do a Mexican dance, learn to bull fight like the matadors, and I came home to a Mexican flag hanging in my living room. Oh, and they also made Cactus soup based out of a childrens book, they actually went to the nearby field to get a cactus pin (they took it out later). They kids loved all the activities and I was glad to hear that she did turn the tv on a few times for them and her to rest. When I got home, they showed me all the great things they learned.

What a fun grandma. I hope that I am like that when I am a grandma-or heck, now, I hope my kids have fun memories of me that way.

wow! What a fun week for your kids....did they even have time to miss you?? Nice to know they are in such good hands when you are away. Great memories for everyone.

how fun is that? that had to make a momma happy to return to. my favorite was alyssa's binky over the mustache. i'm in stitches over that one!
the binky mustache is pretty funny...i have a closer up one of that, but i already had too many picts up. Yes, didn't seem to miss me too much:( But I could tell they did when I got back. She kept them busy and having fun.
