Mom's birthday

I interrupt my travel log to celebrate my mom's birthday. She came to town to hang with us, so we tried our best to make it a great day for her. Starting with 3 dozen rainbow balloons (she loves rainbows and her knickname is rainy) floating all over the house. Of course the kids loved them, too. We did a little shopping in the morning and came home for lunch and I surprised her with a handful of my friends that she enjoys coming over for lunch. Jason's Deli delivered us some scrumptiousness, and my dad in Nigeria funded the event. We had fun chatting and laughing and always (when a gropu of women get together) a great group therapy session. I posted about mom last year, so read this if you want to know her more. Oh yeah, she also started a blog, so check out her first entry.

In the afternoon we went to Tyler's school carnival and had a grand ole time. Boys after the carnival...scary, huh?

Don't you just love it when your Mom comes into town? Tell your Mom Happy Birthday. I'm so glad that your family got to spend quality time together on such an important day.
