Halloweening It Up

Alyssa dressed as Fancy Nancy for halloween. She loves the books and definitely has a taste for the fancier things in life. I told her when she has baubles on (especially big rings) she has to flip her wrist and say, "Daaaling." She is doing that below. Our Halloween festivities began when our preschool group went to the library party. My friend Liz, and her daughter Eva below. Liz is expecting, so she loves to get her hands on little Cali anytime she can, and help her 18 month old daughter with what is to come for her.

My friend Jessica and her son, Ezra.

Some of the preschool group: Riley, Alyssa, Ashlee, Phoenix, Jacob. Missing is Carter and Nathan (Ezra is a cute addition, but not in class).
Alyssa loves to hold Cali

More, "daaaaling."

Tough trying to get a shot of the 3 of us.

Next we have the church Trunk or Treat. Here is Liz with Eva, her little frog.

Michael passing out the candy from our trunk.

I liked both shots....
Matthew and Tyler with their best buddy, Garrett. He is just a day younger than Tyler, and the 3 play well together.

I love this baby smile below.
I could EAT her up!!!

Halloween morning, we got a pumpkin to carve.

I made pumpkin bread, which Cali especially liked.

I rented a Casper movie for the kids to watch.

And we drove to Gruene (an hour or so away) to watch Michael in a bike race. It was ride on the River near New Braunfels, and it was a gorgeous day.

The kids had fun exploring.
Once we got there, I called my brother, Russell in San Antonio to say hi and that we were close, and they decided to hop in the car and come see us. I really wished I would have thought of that sooner, but it just didn't occur to me.

Cousins with shirts from grandma saying: Baby's first Halloween. They both just happened to be wearing that.
Matthew found a caterpillar.
Cali tried to eat Bennett.
I love this one below.
I got one sole picture of Michael with my little pocket camera. Dark, not timed right, oh well. I just wanted to be "off duty" that day. Russell took one on his camera, but I don't have it from him yet. He had fun, but when the race was over, he felt something stuck in his eye. We went out to eat with Russ and Kim and he kept asking me to look in his eye and flushed it out a few times. We headed back home, and raced against the sunlight, hoping we would still get good trick or treating time in. We had to stop on the way at a gas station for Michael to flush his eye again. He was in a lot of pain, at times banging the dashboard with his fist. When we got home, Michael took a shower and I took the kids to the neighbors. After his shower, he jumped in the van as we drove across the neighborhood, but asked me to take him home. It hurt too much.
I took the kids out for an hour and came home to him in a lot of pain.
Kids surveyed their candy, and our friend, Stacy, offered to come over while I took Michael to the ER. I had to heavily convince him that he needed to go. Not wait til morning. This is him as we got there....
Then he got some numbing drops and felt SO much better. The Dr. said he had a corneal abrasion, or scratch on his cornea (the blue part). That it is very painful, but nothing still in his eye.

Luckily, we were only there an hour. It hurt for a few days (they didn't send him home with the magical drops) but at least he knew there wasn't something stuck inside. Happy Halloween to us!

Sounds like fun. The Princess Lea costume is too funny and we enjoy that Fancy Nancy dress as well. Oh I miss the Texas winter, lovely days. I am so sorry Michael was in pain but isn't it kind of nice to pamper them and feel our compassion needed every once in a while? Poor baby.
