Houston after Christmas

Rewinding a bit....
After our cabin trip, we spent the weekend in Houston. My parents live there, its where I went to high school. My kids love grandma and grandpa's house...so many fun things to do. We played a fun game with my parents, just Michael and I for a while, then the boys came and wanted to join. Matthew loves to read, and Tyler looks over his shoulder to help him with words when he needs it.

2 of my dearest friends were also in town for the same weekend. Emily from Connecticut and Natalie from Dallas. These are the girls that I had my trip with last September. With the timing of everything crazy, we met up at Emily's brother in laws reception at the old stake center where I attended lots of dances growing up.
We decided that my two boys can be betrothed to her 2 oldest girls: Tyler and Haley are the same age.
Matthew and Abby, the same age.

We'll just settle for Mia and Alyssa to be great friends--maybe college roommates.
Nat, Em, and I sat around chatting for a while....
Em's husband, Clark, also went to high school with us.

Sunday morning, I went to Natalie's parents house. We used to walk to each others houses in high school. Back in the day....Her parents were on a 3 year mission in Mexico and this was the first chance I had to see them. It was just like old times:) They were a big part of my growing up. Too bad I didn't get a picture of them. But I did get Natalie and my kids together.

I love the recaps. I just need to take the opportunity to point out that Abby's eyes don't always look like that, only when she is mid blink. I would be perfectly happy to have my daughters marry your sons. They are just so darn sweet and adorable to boot...and then we would kind of be related and you could never get away from me...but then your sons might talk to you about what kind of a mother in law I am and that could get awkward...unless I was an awesome mother in law and then it wouldn't be so bad.

It's so fun to connect with old friends again! I love the green and blue striped shirt your wearing in one of the last pictures.
