Christmas Eve at the Duke home

This is how the kids stacked up all the presents on the windowsill and corner before had them spread out in a lovely arranged manner.

On Christmas Eve, we had a yummy meal (Swiss Cheese Chicken) and read the Christmas story out of the Bible. Note Tyler's eyes in both shots.

We also watched Joy to the World. The kids were very attentive and calm as we discussed the wonder and awe of the Savior's birth. Matthew, in watching MoTab said, "They are really good at singing at the same time" ...very observant.

We all opened our new jammies (even mom and dad) and the kids were so excited about their 1 present on Christmas Eve.

We got the kids got all bathed and into their pj's. Matthew wanted to sprinkle the reindeer food on the lawn that he made at school.

Here is the fam in our new sleeping duds.

Michael began building "the wall" with his favorite PVC pipes. In his family, they put up a sheet so kids can't see what Santa brought. It was a big area, so he built this and then we covered it with the sheets. It was pretty sturdy.

Trying to get a cute shot of the kids in their footed jammies. They were so hyper, it was tough. But silly ones are cute, too.

Pretty presents

Cookies for Santa

Here is our home: tree and all.

Our stockings: I saw a pattern for the kids in a magazine a few years ago. My mom made the boys, and I did Alyssa's this year. We had an unfortunate incident with the lady who embroidered them for me, names all different sizes. I may be re-making some. Michael and I got these stockings as a wedding gift, but I'd like to make some for us as well.

Merry Christmas Eve

I love the ones of your kids in Alyssa's bed - their faces are priceless! I also really love the effect you used on these - what is it?

I love the great wall of china that you build in the living room. That's a neat tradition. I love your tree too!

Your house looks so cute a cozy! Is it really too much for us mom's to ask for our kids to hold still on Christmas Eve...just for one shot! To forget the excitement just for 5 seconds? :) The action shots are adorable, and I think they'll probably enjoy looking back on those ones more than the posed pictures. :)

Ah... A PVC wall. Great idea. We had kids up at 5:15 peeking at their Santa loot. Sigh.

Aww, so fun! I love their pajamas. I like that tradition of putting up a wall so the kids can't see what Santa brought. :)

Big tree. Love it. I like the lighting you had for these pictures! What did you do to them? New action?
