bathroom makeover

It all started with the broken cabinets. Michael had fixed the drawer several times, bit the non wood just became irreparable. We ordered a new cabinet, but to install it, the counter and mirror had to come out, too.

Alyssa's room became the holding grounds, and at one point, Michael said, "while we are at it, we might as well tile the floor, too." The linoleum was old, and as M used the texas toothpick to pull it up, we realized the source of our months long pee smell was coming from pee that had seeped below the flooring.
The tiling effort began. Out came the toilet, too.

Might as well hose it down while its in the backyard.

The finished product--took about 2 weeks start to finish. It began 4th of July weekend and the finishing touches were when we were in Utah.
Then we decided to do our master bath because it had carpet. M ripped it out before I could get a picture, but here is the after.

Michael did an EXCELLENT job! I am so impressed. He had wanted to tile our Master since we moved in, but I actually liked the carpet. We borrowed knee pads and other tools from my brother Russell (in SanAntonio) and a few tools from local friends. So excited at a job well done. I got a handy man.

Oh I LOVE makeovers! They look so fresh and bright and beautiful! I love the "texas toothpick" and you hosing down the toilet in the backyard. Your family is just all so good looking. You are a pretty group of people.

They both look fantastic! Way to go! Carpet in the bathroom--I have to laugh! Curtis' parents used to have it in their bathroom, and though I couldn't stand to have it in my house, I remember really enjoying it in theirs!

Wow the bathrooms look fantastic! Gross on the pee absorption...I knew there was a reason the boys' bathroom at the parents' house always smells like pee, I bet it's under the floor in there too!!

I lived in one house in Provo that had carpet in the kitchen and bathroom, and it was really, really gross. Admittedly it was warmer on cold mornings but the mold and stains just don't go away...maybe it's easier to keep it clean with a hubby than with roommates ;o)Yay Mikey, handyman extraordinare!

that pee smell is the worst! Glad you found it's source and could get rid of it. Their bathroom looks beautiful and so does yours. Love the dark cabinet.

So whatever happened to moving? Why the hold up?
