It was fun to watch the boys play at their Field Day with their friends. I love to watch them interact and laugh and play with other kids. Here is Tyler with a bunch of boys in his class. From left to right: Ryan, Alex, Tyler, Brandon, Ari, Jacob,

I had asked a friend with no little kids at home to watch Cali for me, but at the last minute, she couldn't. So, I brought her with me and she stayed in this little spot for almost 2 hours. I kept getting in the shade because it was quite warm. I kept a hat on her in her little papoose, too.

This game (below) was funny to watch. The kids had to keep the ball between their shoulders as they walked across the field.

Then 3 kids....

Giant volleyball (Tyler held back a bit in this one)

Tyler said Tug of War was his favorite game. He likes to win, and one time when 3 parents helped on the other side (and won), he got quite upset that it wasn't "fair." Whoa, boy, I had to remind him it was just for fun. Moments like that surprise me, because he has always been so mild mannered, but he is emerging into a pre-teen.

This was a complicated game, the kids had to balance a bottle of water in the middle of all these strings.

Mrs. Olsen has been such a great teacher for Tyler. She has a funny looking bandana on in this picture, it was flying up with the wind. In this game, she threw the ball to each child in the class and was timed against other classes.

I got to watch Tyler and his classmates for almost an hour when they left and Matthew's class came in. Matthew has such enthusiasm and excitement for new things. He just laughs and loves life.

His class name was Ms. Walsh's Wild Things and they got to choose a "wild thing" and he wanted to be a cheetah.

I love how he is in character as a cheetah with this stern face.

His class with the poster they made.

He and his friend Max in the 3 legged race. They actually won each time, but this first time, they held onto each other by shirts. I suggested they do the shoulder hug thing....

which they did here and were able to go a bit faster. I love his face here!

They then did blindfolded water play. Kindergarteners are so sweet and much more innocent than the 2nd graders Tyler is surrounded by.

Matthew's buddies: Makai, Ryan, Boston, him, Cascade

cute boy.

I had to leave halfway through, so sadly missed him in other activities, but my friend Mina (Cascade's mom) took this and sent it to me.

I love being a part of the activities at school and try to be there as often as they invite me. I usually bring Alyssa with me, but I thought she'd want to jump in, and wanted it to be about them. She played with a friend instead. I love my boys so much and having them gone for 30 hours a week is sad for me, but I know they are growing in ways I can't help them with. They both still love school, so that makes me happy.

That looks like so much fun! I want to play too :)
You are so great to capture these memories for them.
I LOVED field day as a kid. Looks like they had a lot of fun. Cali looks so tiny in the carrier.
field day memories coming back as i look at these pictures! i think your children enjoyed it more than i ever did, and you look gorgeous with cali in your papoose!
How fun! Your such a good Mom! I think it's so neat that you volunteer so often.
Alec's school is having a giant water fight for their field day!!
So great to see all the pictures. Nathan tried to explain all the games, but seeing it is better!
Your kids are darn cute and I love how involved you are at their school. Field days are fun as long as they are not dreadfully hot. I am debating, myself, whether or not I could sign up to help with the kids' field day in a couple of weeks with my kiddos.
Field day is so much fun! And HOT!!
