In the months before going on our trip to California, I knew I wanted to make my only neice a rag doll as I'd made for Alyssa for her birthday. When I asked my sis in law what Abigail's favorite colors were, she said pink and purple. So I gathered the materials to make her doll and went the funky route with the hot pink hair. I fell SO in love with this doll, that I just had to make another one exactly like it for me--I mean Alyssa. The first one I accidentally made too small, so I ended up keeping that one for AJ (as a little sis to her Butterfly doll) and made Abigail a brand new one just the same. My crafty friends Natalie and Debra helped me in the final days before my trip to get it all done. Hallelujah for them. I still have to sew buttons on Alyssa's pinky.
I was so excited to give the doll to Abigail, I was shaking. It was too perfect also that she just so happened to be wearing pink and purple the day we saw her. Alyssa was very excited to watch her open it.

We brought Aj's doll, too so they could play together throughout the week. It was fun to see them play dolly's together, as well as getting along pretty well. Abigail is 2 years older then Alyssa, but she was very patient with my feisty one. I had fun grabbing shots of them playing throughout the week.

All these photos are adorable! I love the one at the top where the girls holding the dolls...cute cousins. Plus, the one of the dolls sitting together on the chair is super cute too. It makes me want to make more dolls. (:

These are awesome pictures! I love Alyssa's face while Abigail is opening up the doll. I loved seeing them play together (now that they can both talk and understand each other) :). So fun to have two nieces!
