Lovin' Life

Micheal and I had a great time on our trip--celebrating 10 years of marriage. Though our actual anniversary is in December, we thought we could celebrate a little early. December is a month that isn't "ours" so much, so we decided to go in October--which actually happens to be the 2nd busiest month of the year for me.

Michael and I had many uninteruppted conversations and enjoyed silently driving through the countryside as well. I love my husband. Am grateful for our friendship and understanding of each other. I'm grateful he delights in my happiness. Though he loved the trip, it was something I wanted...knowing that, I tried to make it something for him as well (hiking, oceans walks). He was so encouraging with helping me find "cool shots" or when I'd hand the camera over to him and say "snap some of me, too." Never disgruntled. He got that cute little smile when he'd realize my excitement over the 10th covered bridged. I love when we smiles that way--knowing it is a smile just for me. He supports me in all I do, and for that I am grateful. I think we make a great team.

Cali was a great little companion and fun to have 2 on 1 time with her. She was a trooper. We logged nearly 500 miles in the car we rented, and she slept a lot, and got a little tired of that carseat by the end. We saw New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. Colorful and vibrant fall leaves, hikes through 2 gorges, 50 degree fantastic weather, covered bridges, scrumpteous and historic bed and breakfasts, and the Atlantic Ocean waves lulling us to sleep the last night. It was my kind of heaven. I kept saying it would be fun to buy a farm in Vermont and live on a few acres in a few hundred year old home, then Michael reminded me of the winter weather. Oh yeah...maybe not. Fascinating was a word we used a lot, breathtaking is one I thought a lot.

My mom took care of our kids well and spoiled them with Sams Club and Target runs. I don't even have to buy Halloween costumes--hooray! She is the best and we are so grateful for her!

Besides October being one of my favorite months already (I just love the fall even if the leaves don't turn colors here) we have a very busy weekend ahead. 2 birthdays this weekend. I've got a lego cake to make, a party to throw, Michael's birthday (where I have to make him just as special as Matthew the next day), helping host a friends bridal shower, church super saturday (I have to go for a bit, its just once a year), our pre construction meeting for the home where they break ground, and that with an enormous amount of photography work I've recently done. I usually like to photograph 1 session a month, but we are penny pinching until we move into our new home, and the word has spread at our elementary school and I've been doing about 4 sessions a month. Coming at a good time, but my evenings are in photoshop instead of blogs now. Oh yeah...and teaching Alyssa's preschool class this week as well as planning/executing scouts. Sorry I haven't been to your blogs...I plan to soon!

I'm not sure when I'll post all about the trip....

How awesome you were in New England! This is a beautiful time of the year here. We are not far away in Schenectady, NY. I'm sure you got lots of good photos! Can't wait to see them.

I just love love love the vacation that you chose to take. Even though I live two hours from those places, I have never gone north of MA. I want that trip, just like that, (except my husband instead of yours of course), leaves, covered bridges, crisp weather, beach walks and all. It sounds amazing and you look wonderful and happy and I can't wait to see more pictures!!!
