Logan, Tyler, Ryan, Ari
Tyler finished his first year of piano, and had his first recital. He has really loved it. This is his teacher, Tina Shaw, she also is in our ward at church. He memorized his piano piece, and Michael's quote after he played was, "He played that with authority." A lot of other players played timidly. A few of our friends that were there for their kids were surprised that Tyler just completed his first year. Hopefully this will last--it didn't with me. This Steinway grand piano is worth $130,000. The recital was at the Steinway Gallery.
Waiting to play....
Matthew
A few days before school ended, Matthew's class had one last field trip. I was so glad I could go, because I had to miss both of his other F.T.'s during the year (once because Tyler was home sick and another because I just had Cali). They walked to the duck pond about a half a mile away. I volunteered to chaperone, as I'd only have to leave my little 6 week baby for 2.5 hours. My mom came from Houston to watch her so I could be with my kindergarten boy. Here he is posing with the tadpole he caught. A dad chaperone found a baby snapping turtle and all the kids were fascinated by it. We also saw a baby snake.
Here are my kids: Matthew Bell (the 3rd grade buddy assigned to the boys) Raghav and Matthew. Raghav is quite the character. I'd known him in the class for being a bit slow (is that ok I said that--its a private blog) but he is a smart kid. He knew all his facts. We became friends and he kept wanting to hold my hand. Matthew and his teacher, Ms. Walsh (Raghav on the side kept following me around, asking to see Cali--he remembered her name from when I brought her to show and tell at 3 weeks). His teacher had been at his school for 23 years--the longest of any other teacher. She was really great, and never shied away from giving my sweet boy praise which warmed my heart a million times over.
He loved talking about the treasure drawer that he got to pull from each Friday after a week of good behavior.
Matthew showing his inner cougar. They had a pizza party on the last day of school.
The 2nd to last day, kinder had a water day. Swimsuits at school, what could be more fun. Matthew is so fun to watch, so much energy and happy.
Alyssa graduated from her first year of preschool. It's been a great year!

Cali
Even though she isn't in school, here are a few cute ones of her.... my chubby little one. She got her first little cold 2 days ago and has had the sniffles which breaks my heart.

Clutching onto daddy's finger and holding her binkie in with her other hand.

Go Tyler at his piano recital! I always got so nervous. I hated it. I can't believe Mathew is graduating from kindergarten, and Alyssa from pre-school. And Cali, getting her first cold. Everyone's growing up! I hope Cali feels better. It's no fun having a cold. :(
Sweetness. The end of school is so bittersweet. Our little chillins just change and grow so much in one school year. I am excited for summer! and especially to see all of your fun family adventures.
i love that last picture of cali and her daddy's finger!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, exciting times for all the kiddos! Cali is looking so much bigger - it's amazing! Congrats to T on finishing a year of piano - I hope it sticks with him, too. It didn't stick with me, either.
