more California

Last summer, I went with the girls to photograph different angles of the Golden Gate Bridge. I just love that big orange thing so much, I was sad the kids didn't get to experience it. I decided that even though we were only going to be in California for 3.5 days, we had to reserve just a few hours to take our kids to the bridge. I told everyone in advance that we would go Saturday morning for just a few hours and whomever wanted to go was welcome to. It ended up we went alone (though 20 minutes into the drive I guess some wanted to go, but didn't tell us in time). It was fun going alone and having the kids full attention. They were a bit nervous up here, as they could see it was a long way down.

Friday after the wedding festivities, our friend Alice came to visit. Our college friend who grew up in the Bay Area just a few miles away from the Dukes. We hadn't met her husband before, and it was fun to see her all pregnat--due just a few weeks after me with her first.

We had some good times back in the day...Steve feeling left out here below.
It's funny because I carry really high and she was carrying quite low.
The night before Jo's wedding I decided the girls needed to go out for a treat (any excuse for a treat) and a pseudo Bachelorette party. We just went to Applebee's down the street, and I tried to convince others to let loose and dance on the table, but we just let loose....a little.

You guys all look so cute. Kris, I appreciate that you always make an effort to make things a little brighter, a little more interesting and a little more fun. I love the ones of you in the flowers.

Go Julie! Those are some great pictures of your family!

I think it's so great you got to visit Cali. I love all the pictures. It allows the rest of us to visit Cali through you. Thanks!

Kristen, you are such a BEAUTIFUL pregnant woman! I just checked out your photog blog and your family picture is awesome! I love it! I LOVE taking pictures and I am seriously pursuing a career in photography. On the other hand, I get really frustrated with my 'level' of knowledge; especially when I see others work and how wonderful it looks. It is definitely a work in progress. How do you keep your lens from fogging up with snow/beach scenes with moisture in the air??

So sad that we missed our chance to go to the GG bridge with you. If I wouldn't have taken so long to blow dry my hair we would've been in that picture.
That may be the only picture we've ever taken of just the 'Duke Sistas' together. Glad you suggested it.
