Another crazy week

Wow, Alyssa's birthday festivities are now over. Her birthday was yesterday and we had a fun party at our home today. I love doing parties, decorating, making cakes, etc. But it wears me out. I took so so many pictures this week. Not just of the party and such, but I did a "photo shoot" with Alyssa in 2 different outfits, and I still have 1 more I plan to do this weekend. So, stay tuned. I just need to lock my camera away for a bit so I can catch up. Hopefully nothing picture worthy will happen for a few weeks:)

We had a broken down van for a week and my friend Candida graciously offered for us to use their old van that was just sitting on their driveway ready to sell. The key to our van got stuck in the ignition and we couldn't get it out until the battery died.

When you borrow something, return it nicer than you got it....This is my motto and I try to stick by it...I said it to the boys, and I am so pleased that they remembered when we needed to return the van.

After dealership issues, we decided to bring our van home and have a friend help Michael...all that just took longer. We did save a few bucks. Then, the 2 nights ago, Michael noticed the fridge wasn't blowing cold air. It wasn't warm, but it was barely chilly. After searching the internet, he found out that our model our fridge has issues with the vent going from the freezer to the fridge was frozen over and therefore wasn't cooling off.
(her scowl is because I am taking a picture)
So instead of a relaxed birthday celebration on AJ's day, the freezer was emptied into the garage freezer (thank goodness for that) and taken apart while Michael and the boys took apart and defrosted the vent, and tada.....it worked! Didn't even have to call the repair man. I think we are done with broken items for a while.
I would have preferred we had our mini family party and sent the kids to bed, then had Michael work on it, but he wanted the boys to help, and in the end I think that was a great idea. Michael is good at encouraging the boys to help him with projects and such.
