Primed.
Painted a chocolate brown.
I wasn't loving it and knew it needed....something else.
My neighbor Clair helped me with a black glaze and I love how it turned out.
I am very pleased with the final look.
The first grade classes at Brushy Creek Elementary each had several eggs in an incubator for a few weeks. His classes hatched first, and all 3 of them. Other classes had just one or none. Matthew really wanted me to bring Cali in so he could show her. He was so excited about holding them for the first time.
Cali was more interested in the glue bottles.
His teacher, Mrs. Noelle McBride. She is such a nice lady and she gushes over Matthew all the time. Saying how smart and kind he is. What mother doesn't love that?
Alyssa got a little pet...
then Cali showed slight interest at the end.
Back in their little home.

Cute baby chicks. They all washed their little hands thoroughly after, right? I love the dresser!! I have a couple of pieces that I want to refinish but I am dreading it because any project that take more than three steps and 2 days makes me not want to do it.
cute. What do they do with the chicks now that they've hatched? My older brother's 3rd grade class did this and then had a drawing to see who got to take them home. And that is how we got chickens to raise when we were kids.
Wow. I am impressed with the transformation you gave that $30 dresser! It looks great! Hmmm. . . . want to teach me how? I love painting old things to make them new but I'm curious how you did that black glaze on top. Anyway, looks great!
